Don't write someone off

James 5:19-20

Don't write someone off.  Instead reach out to them and help them turn to God's truths and away from their sins so you can rescue their precious life and cover over a multitude of sin.

Lord Jesus:

If there is someone I need to help today please guide and direct me to that person.

The power of prayer from a righteous person

James 5:15-18

Elijah prayed for rain and he got it. When I pray I think of the knowledge of God and wonder how I should pray and then I’m reminded of what Jesus said.

Our Father,
Daddy
Hallowed be thy name, 
help me to respect You
Thy Kingdom come, 
May You rule in Canada
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, 
Lord help me to obey You
Give us today our daily bread,
thanks for providing in advance for me but Lord will You help us to bring clean drinking water and food to every part of this earth.
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us,
Lord if their is any unforgiveness in my heart please expose it and help me to deal with it
And led us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, 
please help me not to eat too much and protect us in the neighbourhood
For Thine is the Kingdom and the glory forever. 
For You alone rule this earth. Please help us to recognize this.

The prayer of faith

James 5:13-15

It seems to me that faith is low in the developed world. We have so much we forget that God has allowed everything we have...I’m reminded now that we must not take this for granted. Let us step out in faith and acknowledge the great God we serve.

Keep it simple

James 5:12

Let your yes be yes and your no be no.

The difference between condemnation and conviction is condemnation says you're a looser and there is nothing you can do about it; conviction is very specific.  You're told what you can do about it.  Keep it simple. Don't fall under condemnation because you swore on an oath.

Persevere

James 5:10-11

Remember Job's perseverance and his ultimate reward for "the Lord is full of compassion and mercy"

Don't grumble

James 5:9

Remember "when we point our finger at our neighbour there are 3 more pointing back at us."  So |"walk a mile in their shoes" and discover their perspective.

Have patience

James 5:7-8

Amid the covid virus it's good to be reminded that we need to have patience.  Crops don't grow overnight and neither do God's purposes.  Let's ask God what He wants us to learn today.

Be fair

James 5:4-6

What we do with our $ is seen by God. Let us be fair with the workers.

What to do with wealth?

James 5:3

Lord Jesus, give us wisdom as we save for our retirement.

A warning to the rich

James 5:1-2 

Our trust needs to be in God not our finances. Ask God how to spend your money.

Know it; Do it!

Remember it's only if it's God's will that we can accomplish anything so let's not boast about what we can do but remember Him; the giver of life.

Only God can save and destroy

James 4:12

Since only God can save and destroy let’s respect Him and not judge our neighbours.

Don't slander your neighbour

James 4:11

Now is the time to encourage our neighbours not slander them.

Come near to God

James 4:8-10

As we get closer to the perfection of God do we see our imperfections?  As we grieve our imperfections and humble ourselves before God He will lift us up.

Dear Lord:
As we're reminded on a regular basis these days to wash our hands may we also spiritually clean ourselves and remember who we are compared to You.  Please take our imperfections and make something beautiful out of them for Your Kingdom in Jesus name.

Submit to God

James 4:7

“Submit yourselves then to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

God gives us grace

"But for the grace of God there go I"  Let us remain humble recognizing that we need God and His grace.

Friendship with God

Did you know God longs to be friends with you but His nature is such that He can't as long as we're friends with the world.

Why doesn't God answer prayer?

Have you ever wondered why your prayer wasn't answered?  Could it be that we don't have a God perspective on things?

Stop fights by asking God

Godly wisdom

James 3:17

Godly wisdom is pure, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Let us practice this type of wisdom.
